Configure Router WAN Port as an Additional LAN Port

To connect additional devices, it is possible to configure the WAN port of the Teltonika router as an additional LAN port. Special functions of the router that require a WAN port can then no longer be used. The setup steps depend on the Teltonika firmware.

Teltonika "RutOS7 Firmware"

Below are the steps for Teltonika routers with the RUTOS7 firmware (from version R_00.07.xx) to configure the WAN port as a LAN port:

  1. Log in to the router, see also Local Access to the Router Web Interface (WebUI).
  2. Up to firmware version R_00.07.12: In "Advanced" mode, the parameter to activate the LAN port is not offered. The mode at the top must be set to Basic!
  3. Click on Network -> LAN and then on Edit next to the LAN interface.
  4. Turn on the parameter Use WAN port as LAN:

  5. Click Save & Apply to save the setting.
  6. The WAN port of the router can now be used as an additional LAN port.
     

Old Teltonika "Legacy Firmware"

Below are the steps for Teltonika routers with the Legacy firmware (up to version R_00.06.xx) to configure the WAN port as a LAN port:

  1. Log in to the web interface of the router.
  2. Click on Network -> LAN, then on the tab Advanced Settings.
  3. Enable the parameter Use WAN port as LAN
  4. Click Save to save the setting.
  5. The WAN port of the router can now be used as an additional LAN port.
