Updating the router login password

If the router's login password has not been configured with a secure password, it is recommended to change it during the initial setup to enhance security. The following are the steps for these router models: 
Teltonika Router
Advantech Router

Please ensure that each router is assigned a unique password. For security reasons, it is strongly advised not to use identical passwords across multiple routers.

 

Teltonika Router

  1. Log in to the router; see also Local Access to the Router Web Interface (WebUI).
  2. Click on the user icon at the top and select 'Change password':

    (Alternatively, the password change can also be accessed via System -> Administration -> User settings.)
     
  3. Enter your current password in the 'Current password' field, then type your new password in 'New password' and 'Confirm new password'. Click Save & Apply to confirm:

    Teltonika Password Policies:

    • Minimum password length is from 8 to 64 characters.
    • Password must contain at least one digit (0-9).
    • Password must contain at least one upper and lower case letter (A-Z, a-z).
    • Password must contain at least one special character (~`! @#$%^&*()-_+={}[]|\;:"<>,./?).
       
  4. The new router login password has been successfully configured.

 

Advantech Router

  1. Log in to the router; see also Local Access to the Router Web Interface (WebUI).
  2. Navigate to Administration and click on Manage Users.
  3. Click the 'Modify' button next to root at the top.

  4. Enter the new password in both fields 'New Password' and 'Confirm Password', then click on the button  'Apply'.

  5. The new router login password has been successfully configured.
