Key reasons ping might not be working:
- The device must be configured to accept and respond to (ICMP) ping requests.
- The device must have a valid IP address within the network (IP address of 0.0.0.0 can't be pinged).
- Firewalls on both the device and the network should allow ICMP traffic
- The device needs to have a data connection (which also means it can't be in a barred state or low-sleep mode)
-
The device must be configured with the WL or ARK private APN.
- The SIM status must be active.
- The device the SIM is in must be turned on.
- Check if there are any network coverage or connection issues. Use our network coverage checkers guide.
- If you are having connection issues, you may want to try to refresh the SIM and reboot the device. This can often help solve connectivity issues.
You will need to have the correct role to perform a ping. Please contact your registered SIM Admin to grant the necessary access.
Note: If you are still experiencing issues after trying all of these steps, please raise a support ticket via SIMPro or email us at support@wirelesslogic.com.
