Resolving SIM Connection Issues on Apple Devices (APN Configuration)

On Apple devices (iPhone / iPad), connection issues may occur when using m2m SIM cards as an eSIM profile or a physical SIM card in the SIM slot:

  • No connection or only a delayed connection is established.
  • The connection initially occurs exclusively on the 2G network and only switches to the 4G/5G network after approximately 30 to 40 minutes.

In such cases, the issue can usually be resolved by loading a configuration profile, so that the required settings are taken into account by the system.

Install configuration profile on the Apple device

This guide applies to eSIMs and physical SIM cards inserted in the SIM slot of the Apple device (iPhone/iPad). When using an eSIM, ensure that the eSIM has already been activated on the device, see How do I activate my eSIM profile on an Apple device (iPhone/iPad)?.

  1. Download the attached file required for your SIM card below in the article under Download configuration profile onto your device or transfer this file from another device (e.g. via email, Dropbox, etc.).
  2. Run the downloaded file.
  3. Open the Settings on the device.

  4. Click on 'Profile Downloaded' and 'Install' and install the configuration profile (see screenshot).

  5. Please note that Wireless Logic SIM cards (Conexa, KPN, Telenor DK, ...) are roaming SIM cards. Therefore, Data Roaming must be enabled on the device (iPhone/iPad) in order to establish a mobile data connection.
  6. Please restart the device once; afterwards, depending on availability, the connection should be established immediately on the 4G/5G network.

Download configuration profile

The configuration profiles for the following Wireless Logic APNs are available for download here.

  • eapn1-net.mobileconfig → For APN 'eapn1.net' (e.g. 'Conexa LD')
  • wlapn-com.mobileconfig → For APN 'wlapn.com' (e.g. 'KPN', 'Telenor Denmark', ...)
