Troubleshooting Connection Issues When Activating eSIM Profiles on Apple Devices (APN Configuration)

On some Apple devices (iPhone / iPad), connection issues may occur after activating the eSIM profile due to a firmware setting related to APN selection. In such cases, the problem can usually be resolved by loading a configuration profile so that the necessary settings are taken into account by the system.

Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Download the attached file "eapn1-net.mobileconfig" from the article below onto the device where the eSIM profile is to be activated, or transfer the file from another device (e.g. via email, Dropbox, etc.).
  2. Run the downloaded file.
  3. Open the Settings on the device.
  4. Click on 'Profile Downloaded' and Install the configuration profile (see screenshot).
  5. Please note that the Conexa SIM card is a roaming SIM card. Therefore, on the iPhone/iPad, Data Roaming must be enabled so that the Conexa SIM card can establish a mobile data connection.
  6. The connection should now establish, as the device will consider the correct APN through the configuration profile.

When setting up manually, attention must be paid to the format specified by Apple:

For other manufacturers, usually only one line of code is used, which consists of the SM-DP+ address and activation code and is structured as follows:

LPA:1$SM-DP+Address$ActivationCode
