Configure Router WAN port as an additional LAN port

It is possible to configure the WAN port of the Teltonika router as an additional LAN port to connect more devices. Special router functions that require a WAN port can no longer be used. The necessary steps depend on the installed Teltonika RUTOS7 Firmware or Teltonika Legacy Firmware:

Teltonika RUTOS7 Firmware

Below are the steps needed for Teltonika routers running RUTOS7 Firmware (from version R_00.07.xx) to enable the WAN-Port as LAN-Port:

  1. Log in to the router's web interface (WebUI).
  2. Attention: In "Advanced" mode, the parameter "Use WAN port as LAN" is not available. You must set mode to Basic at the top!
  3. Click on Network -> LAN for the LAN interface, then click Edit.
  4. Turn on the parameter Use WAN port as LAN:
  5. Click on Save & Apply to save the setting.
  6. Now the WAN port of the router can be used as an additional LAN port.

Teltonika Legacy Firmware

Below are the steps for Teltonika routers running Legacy Firmware (up to version R_00.06.xx) to enable the WAN-Port as LAN-Port:

  1. Log in to the router's web interface (WebUI).
  2. Click on Network -> LAN, then to the Advanced Settings tab.
  3. Enable the parameter Use WAN port as LAN:
  4. Click on Save to apply the setting.
  5. Now the WAN port of the router can be used as an additional LAN port.
