If you are a SIMPro Admin user, you have the ability to set up user roles for accessing the Anomaly Detection feature and manage the roles for other users in your account. This guide will walk you through the process.
Automatic Role Assignment Upon Subscription to Anomaly Detection
When your account subscribes to the Anomaly Detection feature, any Admin user with the role group "Normal User with User Admin" will automatically gain access to Anomaly Detection.
If you’d like to add or remove access for other users, follow the steps below.
How to Add Access to Anomaly Detection for Users
Navigate to the Users Page
-
Log in to SIMPro: Begin by logging into your SIMPro account.
-
Go to Account: In the navigation bar, click on Account.
-
Select Users: Choose Users from the Account menu options.
Search for and Edit a User
- Search for the User: Use the search bar to find the specific user you want to edit.
- Click on the User: Once you find the user, click on their name to view their details.
- Click Edit: Click the Edit button on the user's detail page.
Assigning the Role
- Go to Role Groups Tab: In the edit page, navigate to the Role tab.
- Select the Role called ROLE_ANOMALY_DETECTION_DETECT: Find and select the role named "Access to Anomaly Detection Dashboard in a separate browser tab (ROLE_ANOMALY_DETECTION)".
- Save Changes: After selecting the appropriate role, click Save to apply the changes.
To remove access to Anomaly Detection, edit the user’s roles and deselect the ROLE_ANOMALY_DETECTION_DETECT.
Controlling Access Levels to Anomaly Detection (Enterprise Service Only)
For accounts on the Enterprise service, you can further control user access levels for viewing anomalies, blocking devices, or creating compliance reports. The table below shows the role groups in SIMPro and how they affect access to anomaly detection.
| SIMPro Role Group | Specific Role Controlling Access | Anomaly Detection Access |
|---|---|---|
| View only | Access to Anomaly Detection Dashboard in a separate browser tab (ROLE_ANOMALY_DETECTION) | Ability to view anomalies only |
| Normal User | Access to apply full bar on SIMs (ROLL_ACTION_BAR_ENABLE_FULL_BAR) Access to remove full bar from SIMs (ROLL_ACTION_BAR_REMOVE_FULL_BAR) |
Ability to block devices |
| Admin (Normal User with Admin) | Role.ROLE_USER_ADMIN (ROLE_USER_ADMIN) | Ability to create compliance reports |
By following these steps, you can efficiently manage user roles for accessing the Anomaly Detection feature on the SIMPro platform, ensuring users have the appropriate permissions while maintaining security and compliance.
