This article explains how to manually activate an eSIM on your mobile devices (e.g. smartphones and tablets). This is necessary because activation codes are not provided as QR codes for use in devices without a camera (e.g. routers).
Step-by-step guide
- Go to Settings on your mobile device.
- Tap on 'Mobile Service' (called 'Mobile Data' on some devices).

Select 'Add eSIM' (called 'Add Mobile Plan' on some devices).

In the next step, select the option 'Use QR Code'.

Instead of scanning the QR code, tap on 'Enter Details Manually' at the bottom.

You are now in the corresponding input mask.

Enter SM-DP+ Address
Enter the part of the activation code between the first and second dollar signs (without the dollar signs).

Enter Activation Code
Enter the part after the second dollar sign.
Example:Provided activation code LPA:1$RSP-XXXX.XXXXXX.XX$XXXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX SM-DP+ Address RSP-XXXX.XXXXXX.XX Activation code XXXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX Tap on 'Next'.
Your device will now connect to the network. This may take a few minutes. Afterwards, your eSIM will be active.
