OpenVPN

What is OpenVPN?

OpenVPN is an open-source virtual private network (VPN) software that enables secure connections between devices across a public network, such as the internet.

It uses a custom security protocol that utilises SSL/TLS, which encrypts online communications between client and server. Using key exchange and encryption, OpenVPN provides a secure channel for transmitting data.

What are the benefits of using OpenVPN?

OpenVPN is highly configurable and supports various authentication methods, encryption algorithms and network topologies. This makes it a popular choice for creating secure VPN connections.

It can be used to establish secure connections for remote access to private networks. This ensures privacy, confidentiality and data integrity for transmitting sensitive information over untrusted networks.

Wireless Logic recommends the option of using OpenVPN as a permanent connection between your SIM/device in the field and your application servers.
